Beyond expectation successful press conference to present the 2015 edition of the Trail Simbruini, held yesterday – Saturday, January 10 – at the Conference Centre “Porta del Parco” of Subiaco, sold out for the occasion given the great participation of institutions, associations, athletes and the public.
The interventions of the Commissioner of the Simbruini Natural Park, Dr. Enrico Panzini, environment councilor of the Lazio Region, Hon. Fabio Refrigerate, the Director of Regional Parks Agency, Dr. Vito Consoli, and the Director of ‘Regional Agency for Tourism, Dr. Giovanni Bastianelli, has been repeatedly emphasized the importance of events like the Trail for the promotion of a sustainable approach to the use of land in protected areas, the extension of the catchment area and tourist the development of new tourism related to the specificity of the territory of Simbruini. An important opportunity for the development of the tourist industry and the creation of new employment opportunities.
The word is then passed to Marco D’Innocenti, from Gruppo Marciatori Simbruini Subiaco, who explained the motivations and characteristics behind the organization of this important and challenging sports event, which is not only focused on the longer path and demanding of Great Trail, but offers alternative circuits of length and difficulty gradually decreasing, to meet athletes at different levels of practice and preparation, not to mention even the smallest, with the race of Baby Trail which will take place in the context of sports facilities of ‘ Livata ring.
Alessandro Giordani, of Simbruini park , outlined rather technical characteristics and the main steps of the path of the longest race, that of the Great Trail, pausing with a focus on safety aspects and safeguard the safety of all participating athletes. To close the festival interventions of the two winners of the 2014, Tatiana Maccherini and Emanuele Ludovisi, who retraced their experience in last year’s race.
The event was finally enriched by the projection of videos made by the editors of Orizzonti Simbruini, a tribute to the beauty of our region and to the emotions of the race and its spectacular scenery.
The organization of the Trail of Simbruini want to thank all the speakers and the authorities that participated, the mayors of the municipalities of the Park, the Lazio Regional Council, the State Forestry Corps, the Corps National Fire Service, the National Body Mountain Rescue, associations and private citizens who have shared the excitement and challenges of this great project.
